culture is taking copious notes

so you don't forget

and then forgetting where you put your notes

@ljwrites ADHD culture is having entire garbage bags full of post it notes, each densely packed with tiny writing and sophisticated diagrams that make no sense out of context that has been long forgotten

@zens @ljwrites
That's literally why Ryder Carroll invented the bullet journal method: So there would be only one place to write things down and find the written down notes again later. :D

@Anke @zens Yeah I did BuJo for a couple of years and that basic idea is a sound one. Though I've moved to a digital system since (couldn't deal with all the rewriting and indexing by hand), I try to adhere to the idea of keeping things in one place.

@ljwrites @Anke i can’t actually get them so i just keep them in my memory palace

@ljwrites @Anke more seriously tho i think a lot of computer note taking systems could benefit from stripping out most of the bullshit except emulating edge notch cards.

@zens @ljwrites *looks up edge notch cards* Sounds like the same basic functionality as tags?

@zens @ljwrites
Agreed then. Title, body, tags. Maybe allow Markdown formatting in the body.

*bleep*, my mother wishes she could get the Windows 3.1 notecard app back, and that didn't even have tags. XD

@Anke @ljwrites you can go even simpler: only body. title is just the first line, tags is just anything in body with # in front of it.

injury mention

@ljwrites @Anke @zens
I miss my bujo. I'm temporarily using a text file on my computer because of a pair of sprained wrists making it hard to write.
