Ace Attorney 6 commentary, light spoilers I guess?
I'm only on case 2 and while on the surface I really enjoy the writing so far there's something I find extremely off about the vibe of this game, which is the portrayal of Kura'in
In the original trilogy, the Kura'in village and the temple had more of an aesthetic that looked like Chinese Buddhism, but here the Kingdom of Kura'in looks way more like a caricature of Indian Buddhism. It's clearly based on India to some degree but... I kinda have a problem with most of the characters from there having really light-tan skin at best, or being pasty white at worst. And also their religious belief which is fictious, but clearly inspired from the real world, being depicted as extreme and ridiculous.
Idk, maybe I'm off the mark (also the plot might evolve as there's some foreshadowing revolutionary stuff happening, but I'm also worried about the treatment of that subject) but it seems a bit wrong to me.

Actually now to think of it this case is absolute shit with evidence — stuff that should be treated as it (like the coffin, or Mr. Hat with his ripped cape) don't get added to the court record, but stuff that, obviously comes into play later, but seem completely random, like when Apollo goes "oh, an empty bucket. Looks important", does get added. It's a bit bullshit imo

Ah, it seems the Kingdom of Khura'in and the Kurain Village/Fey clan ARE related, but still culturally distinct. It seems the Khura'inism religion and the Kurain channeling technique are not strictly the same thing

Okay so this was a small filler case, but it's probably one of my favorites in the entire series
- It's short and sweet, a really nice breather from the game's heavy overarching story
- Positive representation of plurality/DID. From what I've found, plural people/people with DID liked it
- Overall really well-written: the murder mystery is not very complex which allows it to be pretty tight and less bullshit-y than the rest of the game so far, but also character interactions are gread. I've already mentioned Uendo in the previous point, but having Blackquill as a defense counsel is a delight, and so are his interactions and rivalry with Prosecutor Sahdmahdi
- I loved the rather Japanese setting of this case between rakugo theatre and noodle-making

Urgh Dhurke implying a romantic connection between Apollo and Trucy... :S I wonder if there was a purpose of not having them know in Apollo Justice Ace Attorney that they're siblings, let alone that Lamiroir is their mother. Will it come into play here?

I find it pretty immoral and OOC that Phoenix Wright obscured the true nature of the case when he found with his investigation that Buff was murdered but kept it in his cards for the civil trial instead of reporting it to the authorities. I wonder if he’s doing all of this under some kind of pressure or if he’s on a AA4-like gambit
